Folks in Ida Grove, Iowa are being advised to boil the water before drinking it or cooking with it. A water main broke on Tuesday, causing a loss of pressure to the Ida Grove Water Supply. Because of the potential for bacterial contamination, officials say the water should be boiled for one minute before it's used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth and food preparation.
The water may be used for bathing and other similar purposes.
The system is being repaired. It isn't known how long the boil advisory will remain in place.
Of course, you can get around the problem by using bottled water.
