FOSTORIA, Iowa (KUOO) - Blowing snow is causing headaches for motorists throughout the region Thursday.

Law enforcement agencies in Clay, Dickinson and Palo Alto counties are reporting numerous accidents due to slick roads being caused by snow blowing across roads in open areas, sticking, melting and re-freezing.

Highway 71 between Milford and Fostoria, Iowa is especially being affected.

At one point, both lanes of the road were nearly blocked with jack-knifed semis: the northbound lanes near Fostoria and the southbound lanes south of Milford near the pipeline terminal.
