ALTA, Iowa (KTIV)- Two children were among four people hurt when their car was hit by a train in Alta, Iowa, late Thursday afternoon.
Buena Vista County deputies say it happened at a crossing on Main Street, in Alta, shortly before 4:30pm.
Investigators say the audible, and visual, warning signals were working when the car was hit by the Canadian National train.
Two of the people in the car were rushed to a Storm Lake hospital. But, two children, ages 2, and 4, were flown to a pediatric trauma center in Sioux Falls. Officials haven't released the names, or conditions, of the injured.
