UPDATE: Authorities release surveillance video of armed robbery

BATTLE CREEK, Iowa (KTIV) - BATTLE CREEK, Iowa (KTIV) - The Ida County Sheriff's office says a male in his early to mid 20's displayed a handgun and demanded money, inside Sparky's convenience store.

Authorities believe the armed robbery happened at 6:50 last night.

The suspect escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash and left the area headed westbound on highway 175 in a light colored early 1990's style Chevy single cab pickup.

He's described as a white male with dark brown or black hair and sideburns.

They say he's between five-foot-six and five-foot-ten, weighing between 210-240 pounds.

He was dressed in blue jeans, with a mossy oak hooded sweatshirt and a black bandana covering his mouth and nose area.

He was also wearing dark colored sunglasses.

The Sheriff's Department is offering a $500 cash reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction.
