UPDATE: Nearly 3,000 customers in Sioux City woke up without power

Posted:
About 2,700 MidAmerican Energy customers were without power for about an hour Monday morning.

MidAmerican spokeswoman, Tina Potthoff, says customers lost power at 6:29 Monday morning.  She says there was a problem with a transformer in Sioux City.

Potthoff says crews fixed the problem and restored power to customers at 7:23.  She says she couldn't pinpoint a cause for the outage, but says most of the problems are weather related.
