Milwaukee Wiener House reopens doors at new location

The wait is finally over for hot dog lovers in Sioux City.

Milwaukee Wiener House reopened its doors at 3rd and Douglas in Sioux City on Wednesday after months of construction work.

Owners said it was a "quiet" opening and relied on people to spread the word, which they did.

"We feel great. We opened up quietly. We just opened up the shades and turned the open sign on and unlocked the doors and thought we'd let it go organic, and everyone found out," Co-Owner Mike Eliades said.

Eliades said he already cooked up lots of dogs just on the first day.

And, the customers are happy they can satisfy their taste buds.

"I really missed it and I'm glad they're back open again now," Bill Dubois, of South Sioux City, Nebraska said.

"It's been a long time coming, we've been excited for it to reopen," Terry Olesen, of Dakota Dunes, South Dakota, said.

Owners said the new location can serve about 10 to 12 more customers than before and they're hoping it draws in more people than ever before.
