The snow came down for much of the day in eastern Siouxland but just during the morning in Sioux City.

But with temperatures above freezing, the snow had a hard time accumulating on roads and sidewalk just making for a slushy mess for some of us.

As of late in the afternoon, Spencer had reported close to 4 inches of snow there while Sioux City picked up 1.5 inches early in the day which quickly melted.

The wind became gusty during the afternoon and will stay strongest with gusts to 40 miler per hour into the first part of the night before tapering off some later.

We'll have to watch for wet roadways to become a bit slick as temperatures do cool into the teens for many of us.

Friday will be quieter although we can't completely rule out a rain or a snow shower move through the area.
