IA lawmakers consider crack down on texting and driving

A crack down on texting and driving by Iowa lawmakers. It's been illegal in the state since 2010, but now Iowa lawmakers want to make it a primary offense, and law enforcement could pull you over if they think you're texting. Right now it's a secondary offense and law enforcement can't pull you over just because they see you using your phone. A senate panel recently passed the bill, but it still needs approval from the rest of the legislature.

Iowa legislators take first steps to keep e-cigarettes out of the hands of minors

Lawmakers in the Iowa House are making headway on a bill to restrict access to electronic cigarettes. They've passed and sent to the Senate a bipartisan bill to regulate their sale to children. Though e-cigarettes contain vapor instead of smoke, lawmakers said they're worried about the habits teenagers may be exposed to.

Crowds flock to Siouxland Home Show

The 57th annual Siouxland Home Show wrapped up Sunday after what officials called four very successful days. A large crowd came to the convention center for the final day of the home show on Sunday. Many of you stopped by the KTIV booth to say hello and sign up to win the 47-inch HDTV. The winner will be drawn on Monday, February 24th.
