Sioux City businessman Jim Yanney dies

A longtime Sioux City businessman has passed away.

Jim Yanney moved to Sioux City nearly 60-years ago. He, and his father-in-law Ferris Skaff, founded Guarantee Roofing and Siding. It's a business that his daughter, Charese, runs today.

Yanney was active in the community, as well. He served as president of the Siouxland Chamber from 1965 to 1968, and again from 1985 to 1986. In 2011, the Chamber awarded Yanney the prestigious W. Edwards Deming award for entrepreneurial excellence.

Yanney was 87-years-old.
