LINCOLN, Neb. (KTIV/US92) - A group of business leaders from Madison County, Nebraska spent the day at the Unicameral in Lincoln, lobbying lawmakers on issues important to northeast Nebraska.
Roughly 20 people from Norfolk, and Madison, spent their Wednesday networking with state senators, including District 19 Representative Jim Sheer of Norfolk.
The president and CEO of Norfolk's Chamber of Commerce says it was nice to put faces to the names of Nebraska's elected officials.
"Sometimes we are able to call or write letters to our senators. But to actually be there and meet with them and talk face to face about our issues, its gives you a sense of ownership in the system," said
Mark Zimmerer, President and CEO of the Norfolk Chamber of Commerce.
The Norfolk delegation met with several senators, including Speaker of the Legislature Greg Adams of York.
