SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -

Nearly five weeks after suffering a mild stroke, Republican state senator Rick Bertrand, of Sioux City, says he'll run for re-election.

Bertrand called it a "tough decision" to put his name back on the ballot. But, Bertrand, who's a local developer and businessman, says he "believes in Sioux City."

As the ranking member of the Senate's Economic Growth committee, Bertrand says he understands what it takes to market the people and economic advantages of Sioux City.
