An Estherville, Iowa man is behind bars after police arrested him in the fatal shooting of 30-year-old Michaela Jordan. The suspect, 35-year-old Scott Sudbeck is facing first degree murder charges. Police responded to a call around 8:00 Wednesday night at a home in Green Acres Village Mobile Home Park in Estherville, Iowa. When they arrived they found Jordan dead from a single gunshot wound.
Police in Sioux City are asking for your help to find two men who robbed the Kum & Go store on 27th and Court last Saturday night. Authorities released surveillance video from the store. Police said the two robbed the clerk with a weapon and got away with the cash. Police believe the suspects are white men in their mid 20's to mid 30's. A month after a deadly shooting on west 27th street, Sioux City's Crescent Park neighborhood joined forces once again. Members of the neighborhood network met last night and said their moods have changed. They no longer feel scared or threatened in their own backyards. Sioux City Police also attended the meeting and told the group about their neighborhood watch program called "Safety Up."
Sioux City's Camp High Hopes has a goal of creating hope for children, teens and adults with disabilities. Over the last year, one group has gone above and beyond to make that hope a reality. Camp High Hopes named Premier Bank Card its 2013 Volunteer of the year. The camp had over 200 volunteers that served in the last year, but the group from Premier volunteered at a number of the camp's events last year, including barbecue sales, the fall open house and the haunted lodge party.
The future looks bright for student enrollment in the Elkhorn Valley School District.
