Norfolk, Neb. museum to unveil new exhibit for state's birthday

NORFOLK, NE. (KTIV/US92) - An event in Siouxland will help Nebraska celebrate its birthday on Saturday and give local kids a chance to take a glimpse into their possible future.

The Elkhorn Valley Museum in Norfolk is hosting a free celebration featuring the unveiling of a new children's exhibit.  The Fantastic Future Me Tour will be unveiled at the museum on Saturday.  Museum officials say the exhibit, which is sponsored by the State Treasury, is being unveiled in honor of Nebraska's 147th birthday.  The tour features interactive exhibits that will give kids the chance envision themselves in future roles.

Local government and rescue officials will also be on hand to talk to kids about what they do for a living.  The State Treasurer will also be there to talk to kids about saving for college.

The exhibit will be at the Elkhorn Valley Museum in Norfolk from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.
