Kyle Hayton gave up four goals in Sioux City's 5-2 loss to Cedar Rapids on Friday night.
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -
The Sioux City Musketeers lost for the second straight time, falling to Cedar Rapids 5-2 on Friday night at the Tyson Events Center.
Sioux City (30-14-3) outshot the Roughriders 32-15 but fell behind 3-0 in the second period. Brandon Hawkins scored for the Muskies at the 16:49 mark of the second period to cut the lead to 3-1.
Brock Boeser gave Sioux City some hope with his first goal early in the third period to cut the lead to 3-2. But Cedar Rapids got a goal from Andrew Gaus with 1:27 left in the game to make it 4-2. Dylan Steman scored a short-handed goal for the final tally.
Sioux City will host Sioux Falls on Saturday night.
