UPDATE: Fire Marshal rules a Dakota City, Neb. house fire is undetermined

DAKOTA CITY, Neb. (KTIV) -

The cause of a house fire in Dakota City, Nebraska may never be known.

The state fire marshal is ruling it undetermined or accidental.

Dakota City's fire chief says the damage was too severe to be exactly sure on the cause.

Fire broke out early Monday morning.

When crews arrived the home was engulfed in flames.

No one was home at the time.

The home has been red-tagged.

Fire and rescue crews were called to a house fire outside Dakota City, Nebraska early Monday morning.

The call came in a little before 6:00 a.m., when crews arrived at 969 170th Street the house was fully engulfed in flames.

No one was home at the time and no injuries were reported, but the house is a total loss.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
