New Orleans french quarter is already bustling as visitors celebrate Mardi Gras' Fat Tuesday

(NBC News) Tuesday is Mardi Gras "Fat Tuesday" in New Orleans, the last day of the Carnival season, featuring music, parades, picnics, floats and excitement.

People wear purple, green, and gold, and are adorned with long beads caught from the beautiful floats that parade through the streets.

You'll see a lot of crazy costumes, kids everywhere, and both locals and visitors having a great time.
