Al's Kitchen: Oven-Baked French Toast - Linda Weatherly, Lawton, IA

Linda Weatherly, Lawton, Iowa

Ingredients:

1 loaf French Bread

1/2 cup butter

6 large eggs

1-1/2 tsp. vanilla

1 cup light brown sugar

2 tsp. corn syrup

2 cups milk

Directions:

Grease 9x13 pan. Slice bread 1/2 to 3/4 inch thick

Place sugar, butter and corn syrup in a pan and cook until sugar dissolves. DON'T BOIL!

Pour mixture into the 9x13 pan and let cool for 15 minutes, then arrange bread slices in the syrup mixture.

Beat eggs, milk and vanilla, then pour over bread slices. Cover and refrigerate overnight.

Uncover and bake 30 minutes at 350 degrees.

Eat.
