Hard Rock Hotel & Casino hiring workers in Sioux City
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -
SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - The Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission is holding a hearing in Altoona, Iowa on their denial of a renewed gaming license for Penn National Gaming and their casino, the Argosy.
But the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino says they're proceeding with business as usual in spite of all the litigation surrounding Sioux City's solitary gaming license.
Hard Rock General Manager Todd Moyer says they've started taking applications, and over one thousand people have responded.
As the applications come in, Sioux City Entertainment and the Hard Rock are continuing to make progress on the construction of the facility in downtown Sioux City.
Officials with Sioux City Entertainment say they've been posting jobs on their web page for the last few months and have already made a few hires.
The staff of the Hard Rock, currently a team of six people, is working just a block away from the Hard Rock site in the MidAmerican Energy building.
Right now, the Hard Rock's web page is advertising four open positions, but officials say that's just the tip of the iceburg.
"We have about six team members right now and we have to go to 526 between now and this summer, so we're going to start getting real aggressive on getting the word out that we're hiring," Todd Moyer, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino General Manager said.
Officials also says they're working towards scheduling an opening date for sometime this summer, but can't be sure when that will happen just yet.
Once an opening date is set, they'll start their large scale hiring process.
If you're interested in a position at the Hard Rock, they have a page on their website under the "career" tab where you can submit your name and contact information to express your interest in their available jobs.
