Judge allows city of Sioux City to join lawsuit over the Argosy Casino

DES MOINES, Iowa (KTIV) The city of Sioux City will now be allowed into the ongoing legal battle between the owners of the Argosy Casino and state gaming regulators.

City officials say they have a vested interest in the outcome of this lawsuit.

Penn National Gaming had originally contested the city's motion to part of the suit.  The company said the city had every chance to step in earlier in the process.  However, last week Penn withdrew its resistance to the city joining.

There was supposed to be a hearing this coming Friday to discuss this matter, but after the judge's ruling, this hearing is now canceled.

On Wednesday, Penn National officials will go in front of the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission to talk about its denied license.  That hearing is set or 9:00 a.m. in Altoona.

KTIV's Kayah Gausman will be there and have the latest on News Four.
