NEAR SLOAN, Iowa (KTIV) Authorities have released the name of a semi-truck driver, who died after an accident on Interstate 29 near Sloan, Iowa, Thursday morning.
Woodbury County deputies say 58 year-old Moss Prewitt was driving south, shortly after 10 a.m. at mile marker 130 when it happened.
"We came to the scene and deputies found that the semi had in fact crashed into a tree, had veered off the road and crashed into a tree and the vehicle was fully engulfed in flames," said Lt. Charles Hertz, Woodbury County Sheriff's Office.
Authorities say the truck, which was making a delivery for Tyson, spilled it's contents in the accident.
Both the north and south bound lanes were closed for a short time. Both are now back open.
