Friday night No.1 Western Christian became just the sixth team in the 5-player era to win three straight titles, defeating 4th ranked Hudson 79-55 2A Championship.

Junior Jamie Gesink recorded a double-double, pacing the Wolfpack with 24 points and 10 boards.

Senior Alissa Pollema set a tournament record with 27 assist. The old tournament record was 25 assists.

Prior to 2012, Western had never won a game at the state tournament.  Now, they're a part of history.

"Three straight, this is an amazing way to go out," senior Alissa Pollema said. "I knew we all wanted it and we went out on that floor and we got it."

"I mean I just went out there and played hard," junior Jamie Gesink added.  "We all went out there and worked hard for each other and did what we could."

"At some point we'll all sit back and reflect on three and at some point and I think in the course of history it's really a cool deal," Head Coach Bill Harmsen said.

Western Christian finishes the year with a 27-1 record.
