Suspected Siouxland murderer makes 1st court appearance
YANKTON, SD (KTIV) -
A man accused of murdering his uncle will be back in court a week from next Wednesday. According to the Yankton Press and Dakotan, 28-year-old Joshua Hudson made his initial appearance Friday, where bond was set at a million dollars. A preliminary hearing is set for March 19th.
Authorities believe Hudson used a blacksmith hammer to kill 46-year-old Todd Hudson, Joshua's uncle. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.
It was Todd Hudson's truck they say Joshua was driving after Hudson's body was discovered in a mobile home in Yankton.
The assistant county attorney said Hudson has four active warrants in South Dakota and also faces charges of possession of a controlled substance, burglary, and forgery. Joshua Hudson was apprehended after a long police pursuit through Iowa and South Dakota.
