Siouxlanders answer the call to help feed the hungry

Posted:
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) - The Food Bank of Siouxland reports Monday that last month's "Empty Bowls" fundraiser brought in more than $32,000.
In it's tenth year, "Empty Bowls" is the biggest fundraiser of the year held for the food bank. It's also a hunger awareness event.
In addition to the meal, guests take home a hand-crafted bowl made and donated by local artists.
There were also more than 60 items donated for a silent auction and several companies matched part of the funding for a special BackPack challenge to benefit the "Food for Kids" program.
