SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -

Athletes from all over the country are in Sioux City this week for the NAIA Division II Woman's Basketball Championship; but before the games begin, the players teamed up with some Special Olympics athletes to shoot hoops and share their skills.

The players taught the local Olympians how to dribble, pass and shoot. It's a memorable event that many athletes say they'll never forget.

"It's really interesting because I have a passion for this," said Morgan Pearce, basketball player from Oklahoma Wesleyan University.

"I'm an education major, so it really helps me with my physical education that I'm teaching." said Spencer Boone, a Special Olympian from North Middle School.

Basketball wasn't the only activity on the agenda.

"What we also did is we danced and had lots of fun," said Spencer Boone, a Special Olympian from North Middle School.

The athletes hosted several sessions of clinics on Tuesday. You can see these athletes in action starting Wednesday. Tip-off begins at 8:30 a.m. at the Tyson Events Center.
