LINCOLN, Neb. (KTIV/US92) - 23-year-old De'Aris Trice was granted a new trial by the Nebraska Supreme Court last July, who said that the jury in his original trial were given faulty instructions about his potential convictions.

He was originally convicted of second degree murder in November of 2011.

That was in the stabbing death of Timothy Warren on Christmas night of 2010.

He was sentenced to 40 years to life in prison.

His new trial has been scheduled for May 12, with a pre-trial conference scheduled for March 31.
