Early, IA man charged after armed standoff with police

EARLY, Iowa (KTIV) -

The Sac County, Iowa sheriff has arrested an Early, Iowa, man following a stand-off with police.

Sheriff Ken McClure says 26-year old Jonathan Willroth was arrested after his ex-wife told them he was armed in the same house as her two children. Authorities evacuated nearby homes, and were eventually able to coax Willroth out peacefully. The children weren't hurt.

McClure says Willroth allegedly sexually assaulted his ex-wife, and threatened to shoot her.

Willroth is charged with felony sexual assault, and two other felonies related to the assault and weapon involved.
