Authorities investigate two crashes in Sioux County, Iowa

SIOUX COUNTY, Iowa (KTIV) - Authorities in Sioux County, Iowa investigating two crashes Friday.

The first accident happened west of Sioux Center after a truck carrying a load of diesel crashed into a creek. Up to a 100 gallons of diesel fuel spilled into the waterway.

The driver was taken to the hospital.The DNR is monitoring containment and cleanup of the spill.

Another semi crashed early this morning three miles west of Sioux Center, Iowa.

64-year-old Willard VendeHoef of Alton, Iowa was heading westbound on 390th street when the vehicle left the roadway on 390th street.

VandeHoef was transported to the Sioux Center Hospital with serious injuries.  He was later transferred to Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota

His current condition unknown.
