Spencer Air show grounded for lack of backer

SPENCER, Iowa (KTIV) -

A change to tradition in Spencer, Iowa.  There will not be an air show to coincide with the annual Flight Breakfast this year.

A Flagfest staple for 12-years, the Spencer Airport Board is looking for a new group to organize the event.

Since no one has stepped up this year, there will not be a show this June.

However, the rest of the Flagfest festivities, including the breakfast are still scheduled to take place.

The airport will also host the Doug Yost Challenge, a regional aerobatic competition testing the flying skills of pilots in the region.

That's set for the weekend of July 18th.
