Sioux City man sentenced to prison for hit and run incident

SIOUX CITY, Iowa  (KTIV) - A man police say hit his girlfriend with her own car outside a busy Sioux City shopping center is headed to prison.

Back on December 19, police say 23-year-old Anthony Barton hit his 22-year-old girlfriend, Karilynn Schroeder, near the PetSmart store at Lakeport Commons.

Barton received four different charges in the incident.

Monday, as part of a plea agreement, Barton pleaded guilty to two charges... armed with intent and assault causing serious injury.

The remaining charges were dropped in the agreement.
Barton will face ten years imprisonment and a $1,500 fine.
