Dozens of businesses honored by the Norfolk Area United Way


NORFOLK, Neb. (US92/KTIV) - A Norfolk, Nebraska non profit organization is recognizing those who helped them reach their goals.

The Norfolk Area United Way recognized 91 area businesses who are 2014 Fair Share Giving firms

Those are businesses who give an average of $35.00 per employee.

United Way officials say they raised over $539,000 which is distributed to a number of organizations in Northeast Nebraska.

Brandon Doke, Norfolk Area United Way Campaign Chair says, "And it's a wide range. We help out the YMCA. We help out Teammates of Norfolk, we help out Teammates of Albion, and we help out Teammates actually clear over in O'Neil."

The top Fair Share Giving firm for 2014 was Nucor Steel, which contributed $94,000 combined to the United Way.
