Camp High Hopes announces first ever 5K fundraiser

SIOUX CITY (KTIIV) - Camp High Hopes is planning a tasty new way to raise money and get in shape.
Camp High Hopes will hold the first ever Rib Run 5K run and walk event on May third at nine in the morning.
The run and walk will start at the Chris Larsen Park Shelter in Sioux City on the riverfront. Cookies BBQ rib wagon will be on site from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. on race day.
Camp officials say whether you walk or run the race, the money will go to a good cause, financially assisting the camp to help children, teens, and adults with disabilities.
"The proceeds from this event help provide medical care, medical needs transportation services, our kitchen, lots of different things that go into operating the camp," Karen Nichols, Camp High Hopes said.
Online registration for the run walk event is already live on the Camp High Hopes website.
