NORFOLK, Neb. (KTIV/US92) -

The Norfolk Arts Center has will be receiving the 2014 Governor's Arts Awards for their organizational achievements over the years.

The award will be presented to the Norfolk Arts Center during an event in La Vista, Nebraska next Tuesday.

Samantha Wolfe with the Norfolk Arts Center said that the recognition by Nebraska Governor Dave Heineman will help to continue to celebrate the arts throughout northeast Nebraska.

"As we are increasing the number of students that we're reaching with our theatrical performances, we bring in more people every month to our receptions checking out the visual arts exhibits and so really the award recognition will only help us to increase the publicity for the arts center,” said Wolfe.

Arts Center officials say this award isn't just for the center, but for the entire community for their efforts and support.
