Food Bank of Siouxland benefits from dodgeball tournament

Some in Sioux City took a whack at helping out a local cause.

Dodgeballs were flying and people were getting into the competitive spirit to raise money for the Food Bank of Siouxland's Backpack Program.

Organizers with Siouxland Paramedics union said they chose dodgeball because anybody can play and it's important to give back to the community.

"It's important to see that we not only help people medically and socially that way, but also by helping them meet their needs economically and through food. Healthier kids, you know, people that eat better, they grow up with less illness," "Local I-53 Dodgeball Tournament" Organizer Terry Ragaller

The event raised more than $2,000 for the Food Bank of Siouxland.
