Morningside College's "The Mikado" directed by guest from NYC

SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - Morningside College's most recent stage adaptation got by with a little help from New York City.

The production of "The Mikado" was guest directed by Nicholas Wuehrmann, a performer and director from New York City.

He's even had a small part on NBC's "The Blacklist."

Wuehrmann was in Sioux City for five weeks working on the production.

He said he enjoyed his time in Siouxland, and especially enjoyed working with the talented performers at Morningside.

"The process here has been wonderful. We've been working very hard with the cast, lots and lots of rehearsals, learning all of their choreography and lots of fan movement, their singing and their diction, teaching them some of the comedy," Wuehrmann said.

Officials with the fine arts department at Morningside said they performed on Friday night and Sunday afternoon to packed crowds.
