Brooks Golf Club in Okoboji, Iowa, has been named one of the places to play in Iowa.
OKOBOJI, Iowa (KTIV) -
In their annual report of best golf courses to play in the United States, Golfweek Magazine has named Brooks Golf Club, located in Okoboji, Iowa, as one of the 5 best golf courses to play in Iowa.
“Needless to say, we are excited about this designation,” said Tom Davies, President of Brooks. “It truly is an honor for Brooks to join such nationally known golf courses as Pebble Beach in California, Trump National Doral in Florida, The Broadmoor in Colorado and TPC Scottsdale in Arizona, to name a few, as the best place to play golf in their respective states.
We have been working hard towards this goal since purchasing the golf course in 2006. I must give credit to our grounds superintendent, Brett Hetland and his staff, and to John Bramblett, our PGA golf pro and his staff for the accomplishment of this prestigious honor.”
Brooks Golf Club was constructed in 1931 as an 18 hole layout and was expanded to 27 holes in 1999, adding a 9 hole genuine links style course. Brooks blends masterful design with superb playing conditions featuring bent grass fairways, an arboretum of mature trees, seven lakes, 40+ acres practice range, two practice greens, two teaching pros and a learning center. Brooks has been a certified Audubon sanctuary for many years. And when you’re done golfing, you can recap that great round of golf in our restaurant and lounge, Rababs at Brooks, one of Okoboji’s finest.
Brooks also enjoys a 4 ½ star (out of 5) rating from Golf Digest as “Best Place To Play”.
