Sioux City businesswoman announces her intentions to run for Iowa's Senate District 7

SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - A Sioux City businesswoman announces her intentions to run for Iowa's Senate District 7.

Maria Rundquist, a democrat, says is running because she has a passion for public service.

Rundquist owns a translating consulting business in Sioux City.

She was born in Mexico, became a naturalized US citizen in 1982 and has lived in Sioux City since 1991.

Rundquist will face off against incumbent Rick Bertrand and challenger Jim France.
