Lawn care business impacted by the weather

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) - Farmers aren't the only ones whose work is affected by the weather we're seeing.

TruGreen Lawn Care says the colder weather have an affect on the way they do business, too.

They usually start on their lawn fertilization halfway through March, but that's on hold this year.

"Iowa as a whole is so dependant on agriculture, and it starts with the crop. Anything that decreases the size of that crop would affect the overall economy and that kind of thing. So that's what we're concerned about," Paul Kassel, Iowa State University Extension and Outreach said.

Kassel says that farmers still have a month or so before everything has to be planted, before the trouble starts.
