Honor flight veterans from northeast Nebraska share their experience

NORFOLK, Neb. (US92/KTIV) - Korean War Veterans from northeast Nebraska who participated in last week's Honor Flight talked about their experience.

Thursday morning they were invited to speak during a breakfast at First Methodist Church in Norfolk.

Veterans Everett Breach and Bill Kenny from Norfolk said that the trip had a major emotional impact on them.

"You know, having tears running down my eyes saying, Everett, you're not supposed to be doing that, then looking back and the old guy behind me was doing the same thing," said Everett Breach.

"Little kids, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts thanking us for our service, you know which was over 60 years ago," said Bill Kenny.

Three flights, with hundreds of veterans from the Korean War traveled from Omaha to Washington, D.C. last week.

They spent the day touring the nation's capital and monuments along the National Mall.
