Enhancing children's healthcare in Siouxland with a radiothon

Friday morning it was all about 'caring for kids' for UnityPoint Health - St. Luke's Children's Miracle Network.

All of the Sioux City Clear Channel radio stations broadcast a morning minithon sharing heartwarming stories of children that have benefited from the Children's Miracle Network at Unity Point Health-St. Luke's.

Listeners were then encouraged to call in to the phone bank to donate. That money will stay local and go toward new equipment and supplies.

"We believe that it's important to give back to the community because we really believe that generosity heals and that is something that we see day in and day out here at UnityPoint Health - St. Lukes. And the opportunity to really provide, whether it's $5.00, $10.00, $50.00 or $500.00, every dollar absolutely makes a difference here," said Anne Holmes, director of Children's Miracle Network at UnityPoint Health - St. Lukes.

The minithon began at 6:00 Friday morning and ran for a full seven hours. In the fall, the Children's Miracle Network is having a two-day radiothon for Siouxlanders to have another chance to give back to the children in our community.
