Siouxland musicians play together for a cause

SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - A group of Siouxlanders finished out their season of drumming up support for area nonprofits today.

The All-America Concert Band in Sioux City held their season finale concert, and all proceeds went to Opportunities Unlimited.

The group is made up of volunteer musicians who put on several concerts throughout the year, all of which raise money for charitable organizations in Siouxland.

KTIV's Ron Demers was featured, playing "You Raise Me Up" for the crowd.

Band members say they love what they do, especially because it's all for a good cause.

"That's the nice thing about giving back to the community through this organization, is to have people come who appreciate music, pay the ten dollars per person for admission fee, and know that one hundred percent of that money goes to a nonprofit here in the Siouxland area," Larry Finley, Business Manager for the All-American Concert Band said.

Opportunities Unlimited provides rehab and assistance for those suffering from brain and spinal injuries in Sioux City.
