ARNOLDS PARK, Iowa (KTIV/KUOO) - There are two winners in this year's car drop contest put on by the Spirit Lake Sunrise Kiwanis and the Iowa Great Lakes Rotary Club.

Crews with Arnolds Park-Okoboji Underwater Search and Rescue retrieved the car from Smith's Bay Monday evening after having fallen through the ice Sunday evening.

A clock that was retrieved from the car indicates it dropped into the water at 6:40 p.m.

While no one had purchased the 6:40 time slot, there were two people who picked times on both sides of that, making for a tie.

Officials with the two clubs say Tom Clary of Clary's Lake Service had purchased the 6:39 time slot and Marlene Schmidt of Spirit Lake purchased the 6:41 slot.

As a result, Clary and Schmidt will split the $1,000 grand prize, with each receiving $500.

The Spirit Lake Sunrise Kiwanis and Iowa Great Lakes Rotary Club thank those who purchased times in this year's contest.

The two clubs will use proceeds from ticket sales for various community projects.
