Cherokee County, IA man charged after armed standoff

QUIMBY, Iowa (KTIV) -

A Cherokee County, Iowa, man faces several charges after an armed stand-off with sheriff's deputies over the weekend.

It happened at 1391 580th Street, which is northeast of Quimby, late Sunday afternoon.

Investigators say Cherokee County deputies took 33-year-old Jesse James Dale Rhea into custody by force after the stand-off. Deputies recovered a rifle, which was involved in the incident.

Rhea is charged as a "felon in possession of a firearm."

If convicted, Rhea could have his parole revoked.
