Three people pleaded not guilty for Sioux City armed robbery

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -

Wednesday, Jamal Dean, Levon Dean, and Sarah Berg entered their pleas to nine charges including robbery and carjacking in federal court.

The charges stem from a break-in last April.

A few days after that crime, police say Jamal Dean shot Sioux City Police Officer Kevin McCormick.

Also in court Wednesday, lawyers for all parties filed motions to separate Sarah Berg's trial from the Deans.

The judge says he will take all he heard under advisement and will attempt to get a ruling out by the end of next week.

At this point, trial is set for all three on May 12.
