New acts entertain crowds at the circus

The circus is in town, this week, entertaining children of all ages. The Tyson Events Center has been transformed into a big top for the Abu Bekr Shrine Circus.

More than 50 performers wowed the crowd, including the animals. A group of tigers showed off several tricks.

Plus, there were young tumblers, and some amazing acts high in the air.

The Shriners have put on this show for the past 64 years. Every year, they give out thousands of tickets to Siouxland children so they can enjoy the show.

"It's just great to see the kids smile and have so much fun and enjoy the thing, that's what I'm all about," said Joe Petersen, Shriner.

KTIV'S Sheila Brummer served as an honorary ring master for Thursday night's show. She rode into the arena atop an elephant.
