Sibley, Iowa man charged in string of thefts

SIBLEY, Iowa (KTIV) - A Sibley, Iowa man faces multiple theft charges after authorities found stolen farm equipment and vehicles on an acreage he owns and at his home in Sibley.

The Osceola County Sheriff's Office has charged 52-year-old Michael Block with seven counts of theft in the first degree, a class "C" felony; 10 counts of theft in the second degree, a class "D" felony; one count of theft in the third degree, an aggravated misdemeanor; and one count of theft in the fourth degree, a serious misdemeanor.

The sheriff's office says a deputy was investigating the theft of some hay bales from O'Brien county on March 21st, which resulted in the application and execution of five search warrants.

Authorities seized a baler, wagons, construction equipment, trailers, four motor vehicles and other items that had been reported stolen.
