Annual Easter egg hunt brings hundreds to Grandview Park

Hundreds of kids from Siouxland lined up early this morning, some even got to Grandview Park two hours before the official start time of the annual Easter Egg Hunt in Sioux City.

All of the youngsters shared the same goal, to get as many eggs as possible.

And, those hosting the event say the 30 to 45 seconds of madness is worth the wait.

"Seeing the massive amount of kids just running up this hill, it's something you'll never forget," KG95 Morning Brew Host Andy Mattson said.

And, scavenging the hill for eggs was something most of the kids loved to do, but some say getting as many as they can in such little time was a real challenge.

"I thought that it was pretty hard, but as long as you think smart, and you get most of your thoughts in, that you can try to do your best," Jonny Jones, of Sioux City, said.

"My favorite part was chasing after the eggs," Kylee Pierce, of Sioux City, said.

"I thought it was exciting to collect all the eggs and see what's there inside," Daniela Deleon, of Sioux City, said.

There were about 25,000 eggs filled with candy and prizes at Saturday's event.
