DES MOINES, Iowa (KTIV) -
Spring is in full force, which usually means the return of baseball.
But for football fans, it also means a first look at their college teams.
Iowa doesn't hold their spring game for two more weeks, but they gave the fans a first look at the team in Des Moines, Iowa Saturday.
Iowa is coming off an 8-5 season that saw the Hawkeyes fall to LSU in the Outback Bowl.
Kirk Ferentz returns 13 starters from last year's team.
The Hawks have been practicing for a few weeks now but they say it's good to give the fans a look at their progress.
"We do a lot of things behind closed doors, and when people get to see our work, it's pretty good for us," said senior wideout Kevonte Martin-Manley.
"It wasn't a great practice, but it was our ninth workout," said head coach Kirk Ferentz. "It just give us a chance to get out in the state a little bit and say thank you. There are an awful lot of people that come to Kinnick seven times a year and we just want to try and express our thanks."
Iowa will hold their spring game April 26th at Kinnick Stadium.
