Sioux City house damaged in weekend fire

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -

Officials say "unattended cooking" on a stove is to blame for a Sioux City house fire over the weekend.

The fire broke out around 5:00am Sunday morning at 2802 Meek Avenue.

Smoke was coming from the home when crews arrived. Officials say the home had severe fire and smoke damage. The home has since been red-tagged.

Officials say home had working smoke detectors, that likely saved lives.
