Students and parents invited to town hall meeting to fight underage drinking

Posted:

SUBMITTED (KTIV) - A Siouxland group is working to fight underage drinking in our area.

You are invited to attend a public Town Hall Meeting on Underage Drinking Prevention on Monday, April 21, at 7 p.m. at City Hall Council Chambers-5th Floor, Sioux City. This event is hosted by Siouxland CARES, the Sioux City Mayor's Youth Commission, and Jackson Recovery Centers. This year's theme is "Our Town. Our Health. Our Future".

This Town Hall Meeting is being held in conjunction with Alcohol Awareness Month. Large and small group discussions will take during the meeting to determine how to best address adolescent substance abuse issues in our community.

Many other communities across the country will be conducting these meetings in March, April or May, sponsored by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).
