State gives children's museum a big boost

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -

The Children's Museum of Siouxland receives the funding it needs to move ahead with their six-million-dollar project.

The museum received a Community Attraction and Tourism or CAT grant worth $900,000.

In choosing the Children's Museum, the program's manager said the project would not only be a draw for tourism, but also improve the quality of life in Sioux City.

The museum will be reimbursed by the state for work as the project moves along.

The program requires the museum be finished in two years, but plans are to open in May of 2015.
